Goodbye, 2016!

It was the best of times, it was the worst times, but here we are. We’re another year down staring into a much better one ahead of us (yes, I’m calling it early). As weird/sad of a year as 2016 was, I had so many amazing moments throughout it and, yes, also some of the hardest. Moving to my favorite city, exploring it, growing closer to Adam, settling into a chapter we’d been waiting so long for has been good, SO good. It’s no surprise that most of my top photos from Instagram were taken in New York, even though we spent more time living in Charlotte this year. I’m home here in Manhattan, I feel most like myself here, and I’ve already grown so much. This is the city where I paid for coffee behind an SNL cast member just the other day and got a pep talk from Tracy Morgan while walking the dogs. It’s the city where I work through fear often and continually push myself out of my comfort zone and will continue to do so in the coming year.

So yes, so many really, really hard days happened in 2016, but I have to focus on the good and be thankful that there was plenty of it to go around this year. All that being said, 2017 is really going to be amazing. In spite of some circumstances, it will be. More thoughts on next year to come but, right now, I need a little date with myf favorite guy in my favorite city.

Wishing you the happiest New Year. I’ll see you in 2017!

  • Hi Katy,
It’s soooo wonderful to hear that you’re feeling so at home in NYC – I’m completely jealous and envious.

Keep pushing yourself out of my comfort zone lady!!!!
