The Girl and The Good

I am currently having one those super simple and yet utterly perfect Saturday mornings. It started with a gorgeous run that made me feel alive. Maybe it was just the weather, the fact that I ran four miles and barely walked, maybe it was some good music flowing through my headphones or the kind strangers I passed by with a smile and a wave. I’m guessing it was all of the above and it must be documented that I have fallen back in love with running just in time for beautiful weather and plenty of 5ks on the wishlist.

It was moments like this morning that remind me of why I named this blog what I named it and I thought about that as I was running around the park today. I wanted to remember this morning and that run because as simple as it is to many, it’s just a piece of the good stuff in my life. I can get into a bad habit of waiting for the big things, an impending trip or the holidays approaching. Or this summer, waiting for the heat and humidity to go away and for fall to arrive. I’m so tired of waiting for the good stuff to arrive on my calendar! We don’t know what life will bring each day and I’m tired of wishing time away. Aren’t you?

There is so much good in the present. We don’t need to look too far for it. I want to document my good here, even in the hard times because there is good around us during those as well. Thus, The Girl (me) and The Good (life). I hope you spend some time this weekend focusing on the present, being in the moment and finding your good.

I couldn’t agree more! I’ve been thinking about this very topic lately. Especially in the weeks leading up to fall when everyone on Twitter was talking about wanting fall to hurry up. Staying in the present is really the only way to be happy. Glad you had a great run!

I needed to read this today. Thank you!

  • So happy to hear that, Jenna!

  • Absolutely! We need a daily reminder to stay present. So easy to focus on everything but.
