a weekend of celebrating

We were going to try and leave town for an anniversary trip, but we decided to use that money to renew our passports and save for a trip to Italy that will be happening this year instead. Three cheers for being responsible? I must say, we really did end up having a great time just hanging around here.

Friday afternoon, we went to the Mint Museum and browsed some of the exhibits. Saturday we drove up to the Yadkin Valley for a few hours to try a couple wineries and sit outside with a glass of wine before the skies opened up and unleashed their fury upon us. Later that evening, we went to one of our favorite restaurants for our anniversary dinner.

Sunday we discovered a new(to us) bagel place which is always deserving of a high five. We left the house before I had hardly woken up and ordered our food, before heading right home to enjoy our breakfast. We stayed a bit lazy and watched a movie, but it was way too beautiful to stay in for too long, so we walked around some shops and stopped for a drink and oysters as we sat outside at a local restaurant. I will take all my meals outside for the next few months, please and thank you.

It was wonderful and happy and one giant reminder of how much I love that guy. I am so very thankful that we can stay in town and still have one amazing weekend together.
