Well this weekend one for the books, I must tell you. Not because of anything super extraordinary, really. Just a simple weekend of relaxing and making memories. One of those goodness-filled weekends that had me longing for just a few more days of it.
Saturday morning we packed up the car and loaded up the pups before taking the 2 1/2 hour drive to the mountains to spend time with family and to celebrate my mom’s birthday. After we got there, we headed out and spent a few hours sitting outside a gorgeous winery while I got to dance with my sweet little nephew, Griffin, to some live music. We spent that evening just eating pizza and hanging out. I ended up sleeping nine hours that night and boy did it feel incredible.
On Sunday, my mom and I started her birthday off with a short hike and around lunch time, we hung out at a local brewery before we headed home to grill out and enjoy the afternoon(and some delicious coconut cake). Best of all, we finally got to relax a bit which we both so desperately needed.
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I’m so excited for tomorrow. I’m getting my hair done and then we’re spending the evening with some of our good friends here in Charlotte to grill out as a pre-4th celebration of sorts. Thursday it’s the 4th of July! One of my favorite holidays. Adam has off of work as well, which is always fun. I love treats like a middle-of-the-week day off for us both.
Here’s to a wonderful(and short) week!
