homeward bound

It’s the weekend and I’m getting ready to go out of town. Around lunchtime I will be picked up by my mom and sister and will be whisked away to..well, lunch of course, but after that? Florida. Not Orlando, as usual, but Ft.Lauderdale. Where I was born and raised. I haven’t been back there in over two years, since before we moved to Charlotte. It’s a very, very, very long drive so we’re breaking it up into two days. Jacksonville first and then home tomorrow. I’m excited. I’m excited to visit my favorite places that I haven’t seen in a while. I’m excited to, hopefully, see the beach before I have to head back home to Charlotte. I do miss the beach.

With all the sniffles going around, it’ll be nice to get some fresh sea-salt air in my lungs and sand between my toes. Or, at the very least, lay out by the pool and soak up some warmth. I’m hoping for lots of sun and family time. My sister is having her baby shower for sweet baby boy on Sunday, so it’ll be a lovely time celebrating her and getting to see a lot of family and friends.

Right now though? Right now is the in-between time. The time where Adam has left for the day and my family has yet to arrive. A sort of blue feeling. I miss him already but I know it’s going to be so much fun and I must get ready for it. I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

  • Lucky you! Hope you have a great time in your hometown with your family!

  • Oh, the beach! I would love to live by the beach one day. :) Hope you had a great time!

  • Didn’t make it to the beach! Just got to drive by it at night. Sad! Just means I’ll need to get down to the coast sometime soon, right?

  • I did! Thank you, Erin! Have a great weekend.
