Today is just one of those days. Nothing particularly exciting, but a some things bringing me down right now. Mainly, Adam’s iPad was stolen. I wouldn’t have gotten into specifics, but I’m hoping some prayer will help us find it or at least help with gaining perspective. I may be more upset than he is, really. Money is just so tight right now so even a little hit like this feels huge. That was his big Christmas and birthday gift last year. It was his. I just feel sick about it. I’m going to be honest with you, while I’m a pretty optimistic person, I have my glass-half empty days. I know, it’s really not shocking, but today is really one of those days. I’m feeling a bit blue. So let’s gain some perspective, shall we?

No matter what you’re going through, please take a moment to remember how blessed you are.

As for Adam and I, here’s to hoping our blues turn into yellows, oranges and any other bright and cheery color.

ugh, so sorry to hear about that katy. i know that has to be so frustrating! praying you guys find it!

  • So frustrating and violating. Blah. You know how it is. If husband is upset, we’re upset. I can’t do anything but pray.

  • THIS perspective thing? PERFECTION.

  • It really puts it all out there. We’re so much wealthier than we think. We’re SO BLESSED!

  • I really don’t like when people take stuff that isn’t theirs! However, your perspective (and your challenge for us to have perspective) brings, well, perspective! I know sometimes I act like the rich bratty first world-er that I am. I would so rather live simply and be a giver.

  • so sorry to hear that! I get how something like that can be a blow during some financial strain ;/ heres to hoping its found!

  • Absolutely, I agree. I’m sad if he’s sad but luckily, he feels at peace with what happened. We’ll take it one step at a time. But we’re happy and healthy. We cannot complain! Feeling better already.

  • Thank you so much, Sarah!

  • Keeping my fingers crossed for you two!

Today was a rough day – nothing that terrible – but the night has felt anything but right. And while I’ve looked at this picture/quote before, it reminds me that life is still good. :)

  • Definitely praying for you! This is a lovely blog post – and definitely good food for thought. I think sometimes, we all need a bit of perspective!

  • What an amazing post! You have every right to feel disappointed, but what a way to turn that into amazing perspective! Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

  • Amy

Are we really praying to find a piece of technology after just writing a post about perspective and how blessed we truly are? Am I the only one that find this odd? Ironic? Hypocritical?

  • Hey Amy! I can see where you’d say that and understand where you’re coming from. My husband used that for work and no matter what you lose, it feels like a huge violation when someone steals your personal property. This was a huge gift for him that he saved up to buy. To know someone did that to my husband, it broke my heart. I posted this right after it happened. I had to vent a little and wanted to share the story, because maybe some prayer would help it show up somehow. I don’t think that’s wrong. You don’t have to pray we find it, but it’s not a drop in the bucket for us. I don’t think it’s a crime to have perspective and still feel frustrated when something of yours is stolen. I’m only human. I wish I could feel completely okay with it in the grand scheme of things. I want to be open and honest with readers and share how I felt. Right or wrong. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

  • Oh and just one more note, I asked prayer to “find it or at least help with gaining perspective”. I admit I’m not perfect and don’t handle things with full perspective. I hope to get better at that!

  • we all need to be reminded of perspective sometimes!

  • I appreciate this post so much…very “real”…I am a new follower, and enjoy your website. We always have those days of “glass half full”…in fact, we had someone steal the majority of my husbands presents this Christmas from the delivery truck the day they were delivered, and I felt similar before I began realizing we were blessed to have roof over head, etc…so I understand. Appreciate your “focus”. Would love for you to drop by and visit me at Chronic Christian Crafter sometime as well. Blessings,
