I absolutely love Pinterest(who doesn’t right?)! One of my biggest things I’m working on is being more creative with the clothes I have. I mentioned on Twitter, on New Years Eve, that I have a horrible habit of wanting something new for every occasion. All I wanted for NYE was something sparkly but I had nothing. I’m sure I could have found something at the mall, but I definitely don’t have the funds to go right out and buy something for every single occasion. Our budget for new clothes is pretty much non-existent right now as we try to get our finances in order. I need to work with what I have at this moment. Pinterest is a huge help in this.

It also helps me pick out things when I do get a chance to shop. I’ve started noticing a pattern in things that I pin and it’s really helping to show me what I am drawn to and what I should look for with a small budget in a large mall. If I purchase things that I notice in a few different outfits that I’ve pinned, I will wear it more. That money will go much further. Pinterest, you’re my hero.

Here are some outfit combos I’m loving(and pinning) right now.

So I used a little inspiration from Pinterest and threw together a nice, cozy outfit for a very cold day. This Florida girl is in cold weather & layering heaven. What can I say? I thrive in jeans, boots, sweaters and scarves. I was always meant to live in a city with four seasons.

  • cute as a button!
[and i think buttons are mighty cute.]

i am trying to go through my closet/drawers this month and donate things I never don’t fit (my body or my style) and start to repurpose the things I do love if needed. I recently found a like-new blazer at the back of my closet that i had hidden about 20 pounds ago because it was quite snug….guess what fits perfectly now? BOOYAH!

  • I need to clean out my closet as well. I’m over the jeans that are too low and cut me at the wrong spot and things that just don’t make my body look good. If they make me look bad, I feel bad and they will never get worn. So here’s to cleaning out the things that don’t fit and celebrating the finds(the blazer) that do! I love finds like that. :) I’m also going to try and thrift more as well.

  • cute! i love your version.

  • oooo so lovely! you used pinterest as inspiration well! i’m majorly into pinterest myself :)

  • I love your outfit! I sigined up for Pinterest but have yet to “pin” anything – I still haven’t figured out exactly how it all works. One of these days, I’ll get to it …

  • CUTE! I love the layers and the dashing red lipstick!

out of curiosity – is that the “coffee” stamped mug from Crate + Barrel? If so, I have the same one and LOVE it. It holds half my pot of coffee!

  • Yes, yes it is! It’s probably my favorite mug of all time. I love it!

  • How cute is that scarf!? I don’t have a Pinterest yet because I’m afraid of becoming addicted!

  • Ha, that is probably smart! It’s quite addicting, but I love it. It’s helped me a lot. You should think about changing your mind, maybe? :)

  • Thank you! The scarf was a gift from my sister-in-law and I absolutely love it! I’ll do my best to link up on Sunday. :) Thanks for inviting me to join!
