What are you doing New Years Eve?

This is too lovely, I couldn’t help but share it. I absolutely adore these two.

While we’re on the subject, what are your New Years Eve plans? We have none at the moment. We usually keep pretty low-key and I sort of like it that way. Although, I do love any excuse to wear sequins and sparkly things. Perhaps sipping on some sparkling something while dismantling the Christmas decorations will suffice. Yep, things are about to get crazy in our house!

I’ve been thinking a lot about the new year, since it is only two days away. Our main focus of last year was on moving to Charlotte and that was half of our year, more than that. I have sweet memories of traveling to Charlotte monthly when Adam was able to set-up networking meetings, hoping to find a job that would get us up here. I’m sure it was more stressful for him, but I remember how exciting it was to just take off on a little trip with him. We adopted our sweet Nola on one of those trips. Luckily, it was the one that landed him the right job and got us to our city.

I must say, I’m SO excited to be settled. Finally settled. We’re living in a city where I can see myself living forever and I really feel like I have this solid base. I have a place to start putting some roots down and I absolutely love it!

I have such an insanely good feeling about 2012. I’m working and praying through my goals for the next year since I don’t do resolutions, really. I think I’m constantly a work in progress and to resolve to change certain things puts a bit too much pressure. Goals are much more palatable for me. I promise to share a few of those with you all on Monday. I’m off to enjoy an extra long weekend with the husband.

Until next year, friends. Wishing you a very safe and happy new year!

  • Normally we do a super low-key NYE with a parents or another set of older relatives, but this year we’re going to visit my SIL and her husband in the Netherlands. W00t for a European New Year!

  • That sounds amazing! Enjoy your trip, sounds like so much fun! Happy New Year!

  • too funny! I just posted this exact video to my fb.
I love me some zooey. (probably because she is just as quirky as me and makes me seem less crazy)

  • Oh, I love her too! New Girl is my absolute favorite. She’s SO adorable. I agree, it’s like she gives me permission to be goofy.

  • I love Zooey – so sweet and so quirky and so much like me! We ended up going out for pizza and fried mozzarella and beer for dinner, and then walking downtown for fireworks at midnight. It was a fun night in our new home. We walked more than eight miles yesterday with everything we did, so we’re definitely feeling it today – but it was worth it.
