This morning I woke up in a hotel with the love of my life. We had a little night to ourselves, sans puppy, and it was wonderful! Just a much needed break and alone time. It felt like a mini-vacation and we slept in as much as we could, which usually means no later than 8 for us, but we’ll take it. I ate some oatmeal with dried fruit, nuts (okay, okay and brown sugar) from the hotel breakfast bar this morning. I felt it was much needed to eat a healthy breakfast after a huge Thanksgiving meal…and a medium pizza shared between the two of us that we ate in bed last night.
It was glorious.
Yesterday we spent the day with my family. My mom cooked a turkey, even though we weren’t bringing it anywhere, just so we’d have plenty of leftovers. She’s brilliant, that woman. Thanksgiving leftovers tend to make the best sandwich ever. For dinner, we went to a friend’s house and ate the most amazing food. We provided most of the sides and some dessert. Everything was delicious!
Goodness, I love Thanksgiving. I’m so thankful for the Lord and that He holds my life in His hands, my husband, family, friends, a sweet and crazy puppy, a roof over my head, and a plethora of food on my plate. I’m thankful for blogging, this amazing outlet I have, and all of YOU!
I’m just SO grateful.
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I’m certainly feeling loved and blessed right now.
We’re here in the mountains for a few more days and I’m excited for a long weekend with family. I hope you all take some time to unplug this weekend! I’m going to try and do just that.
Happy weekend, friends!
