Nola & the cone of shame.

posted on: Saturday, October 8, 2011

Hello there, I hope you’re enjoying your weekend! For those of you wondering, Nola is feeling tons better. Her energy returned at about six this morning, but after a quick walk we were able to get her to sleep for another couple of hours.

We’ve spent most of our day at home, but left a bit to run some errands which involved grocery shopping and buying Nola an e-collar. I was hoping to not have get her the “cone of shame”(as I’ve heard it referred to), but that poor girl keeps trying to get at her stitches.

So, basically, this just had to happen.

Don’t worry, we’re loving on her big time.

We just spent twenty minutes combing the aisles of PetSmart getting her a few things to spoil her even more. Now, I don’t feel so bad. Although I am a bit stressed about keeping her from jumping and getting too playful in the next 10 days. It took her less than 24 hours to become her usual crazy self, so this should be quite interesting. Yikes! Wish us luck?

  • Cone of shame is a reference to the movie UP! Poor puppies who have to wear it. Extra loving is needed.

  • my pupper loves to wear his cone, mostly because he gets to run into people with it and get a reaction :)

  • Yes, that’s where it’s from! I know, poor girl! We are spoiling her like crazy. Lots of love for our sweet girl!!

  • How funny! I want to see that! She barely walks with hers on, she has no idea what to do with it. Except she does try and chew on it.

  • It’s hilarious and pathetic at the same time! Hope she recovers quickly!

  • Aww, those collars are so sad. But your pup is still ADORABLE!

  • Aw, thank you! I know, the collar is SO sad! She just looks so confused when we put it on her. I feel so bad for my girl, I hope she stops messing with the stitches soon so we don’t have to put that on her anymore.

  • So pathetic. Those are the perfect words. She just can’t seem to figure out how to maneuver around let alone walk around with that thing on around her neck!

  • Poor little Nola! She looks so sad.

  • Nola is so cute! That face just melts my heart and I want to give her a big squeeze hug! Hope she is doing well and she loved all of her new treats!

  • I know! My sweet girl. She doesn’t have to wear the cone too much, so that’s good. She’s 110% back to herself today. I thought she was going to mellow out for a few days. Not one bit! ;)

  • Aww, thank you! Not that I have anything to do with how cute she is! ;) She would love a big ol’ hug from you! She loves everybody. She is doing much better today and is completely back to herself.

  • Poor Nola! Max had the soft plastic blue cone for a few days, but somehow managed to get around even that to get at his stitches. We had to get him one of the hard plastic ones–a true cone of shame!
