So, tomorrow’s the audition. This weekend, the thought of it stressed me out. Actually, I have moments of peace and moments of tension and feeling downright nauseas. So fun, right? I have to sing one verse of “Amazing Grace” and one verse and chorus of any song I want. Still haven’t settled on one. It’s going to be very short, which is good. But a capella is hard. In the end, I feel fine. What’s the worst-case scenario? I forget a line, my voice decides not to work as well as it can or I pass out. I don’t think the last one will happen and if the other two do? Oh well. I tried. I’m not even at the point where if I blow it, I’ll be so upset. I see it as a great opportunity to stretch myself, get out of my comfort zone, grow a bit, and I realize it’s just great practice. I want to pursue music, so this is just the start of me chasing a dream. In the grand scheme of things, it’s not a big deal.

Right?

Gulp.

  • so normal to be nervous, but yeah, what do you have to lose by taking this opportunity? :) you’ll be doing what you love, so just have fun with it.

  • Katy! You are going to do great. This is your passion – and I’m sure you find comfort in singing…just remember that!

  • You are going to be amazing. Good luck and have fun— that’s the most important part!

  • Beth

You’ll be great! Best of luck and don’t forget the most important part- enjoy yourself! :)

  • Rachel

Just remember that the goal here is to go to the audition – anything beyond that is an added bonus and, right now, out of your control. So focus on getting there and enjoying yourself – Good luck! :D

  • You are doing to do great! Being nervous proves just how courageous you are!
