This weekend we headed to Fishersville, Virginia for the weekend. We met Adam’s parents there to see his dad play at Barren Ridge Vineyards Friday night while watching the sunset, before heading to the Daylily festival on Saturday. It was such a wonderful weekend with family and we were thrilled when my mom and step-dad were able to come as well. The weather was gorgeous and cool, the views were amazing and the five hour drive? The most gorgeous road trip I’ve ever taken. I can see us going back to visit many, many times. Nola spent her first couple nights in a hotel and joined us at the winery Friday night where she played among the grapes. It felt like a glorious mini-vacation and I wish we could have stayed another week.

I love Virginia wine country.

  • this seems absolutely BLISSFUL!

beautiful photos, katy! my husband and i have been talking about doing a weekend away in virginia wine country. i think we need to make that happen this fall!

  • That’s so ironic! I’m going to Hot Springs, VA tomorrow, which is pretty close to where you were. Glad you had a great time! This will be my first trip to the area.

  • I’m so happy my home state represented well! And when I saw the dog picture I thought “whose dog is that?” before I realized who she was – she’s getting so big!
